It's no real mystery to me
The people want
What they think they need

They will always want more
Than what they see
And when they have it all they won't be free
..anymore..

American Dream, you are not free
You can keep on going- without me

Because you leave your family
Alone when they're in need
And your selfish ass
makes you beg and plead
..brown-noser..

The more you want the more you'll find
The best asset you have
Is your great mind

There are more priceless things you should search for
Living happy lives, and opening new doors
Everytime you think on greed
Take the time to plant a seed
..that's time well spent..

If you ever make it to the top
Just know it's a dead end- then you stop
And come back down to Earth..

Hear their plea

You take away their family

She was around
when there were tears
to wipe them from our faces
and kiss the boo-boos we would get
when we would fall

She was our protector
if Daddy would threaten us
and we were brought up in a church
so we wouldn't end up like that
or maybe worse

Her hand was firm
the law was laid down
did we dare get out of line
but she would always make sure we knew
how much we were loved

And there were the tears
which we knew would happen
behind closed doors
and she thought we didn't know
when we had disappointed her

And that was the worst punishment
of all others
to have disappointed Mom.

She is around
to listen to our troubles
even though they are not her problem
but she will soothe
and talk us through it

She has family dinners
to keep us together
may we not ever drift apart
we go
and she makes it worthwhile

A writer, cook
and wonderful housewife
David is seen off to school every morning
Her strength can be felt
in the tones of her voice

We love her so very much
She is here always
Her beauty graces the room
that abundant love we cherish
the laugh that everyone wants to hear

And that is the best reward
of all others
to please Mom.

wonder of wonders
is love
deeply it hides in the soul
oh he's a trick
that man
who provokes it to come out
soft words, gentle words
he lies
but alas love is blind
and cannot smell
that rat
so love will entangle itself
around the spirit of another
hardly to escape this grasp
when all the knots are loosened
and the maze is conquered
when the eyes of love are opened
and the great mind understands
love is sure
and love is sure

With the pressure.. my ears ring

My light is dimming

I must go, and do, and feel

before my light burns out.

I will run. I will jump. I will fly.

Leave the shadows behind me.

I will slide down every rail- twice.

Then I will gallop away on my mustang

and again I'll feel alive

I am so grateful to all of you for observing my poetry. It is simple, and I don't believe in editing my work. I feel it would be like trying to erase a painting. This page is very real, and it contains my deepest secrets. All of my emotions have been blotted into every poem. My tears have dropped here, and my smiles have graced each good memory. You have shared the most important pieces of my existence. So now we can have understanding. Enjoy life, and bless you all!
